AMD SHAREHOLDERS finally approved the company's plan to carve itself in half and take the Arabian dollar.

Following the vote, the path is clear to spin off manufacturing facilities into The Foundry Company in a joint venture with Advanced Technology Investment Co. of Abu Dhabi.

The vote was passed in a Texan hotel today, after last week's gathering failed to produce a quorum.
The deal should close on March 2. µ
