Philips presents new H-IPS 240PW9ES

Philips has introduced two new 24-inch monitors in widescreen format. The cheaper 240BW9CS has a TN panel and the more expensive variant, the 240PW9ES, has a high-quality H-IPS panel.

The new monitors have a white design that offers pivot, tilting and rotation, as well as height adjustment.

Philips 240PW9ES

Both models feature a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, brightness of 400 cd/m² and a response time of 6 milliseconds (g2g for 240PW9). The static contrast ratio for both monitors is 1,000:1 and the dynamic contrast ratio is 3,000:1 and 10,000:1 for 240PW9ES and 240BW9CS, respective.

The H-IPS variant (240PW9ES) covers 102 % of the NTSC colour space according to Philips; 240BW9CS covers 92 %.

Philips 240BW9CS

Both models feature a digital DVI (with HDCP support) input, an analogue D-SUB (VGA) and a USB 2.0 port. The 240BW9CS is also equipped with 2 x 1.5 watt speakers and an audio input.

Philips has tried to reduce the power consumption and 240PW9ES is advertised as consuming 85 watts for typical usage and 41 watts in eco mode. 240BW9CS consumes 90 watts and 45 watts in eco mode.

Both the Philips 240PW9ES and Philips 240BW9CS are available now from retailers. Philips is providing a 36-month guarantee period for both models.
