因論壇文章的容量限制關係, 有部份Bug修正還沒有列出來, 實際的新增功能和Bug修正比以上所列出的還是多出一倍

刷3ware固件有甚麼好處??...
甚麼高階軟體服務通通都沒有...
3ware的還是選購9750系列...

Fast Path: 512KB隨機讀取性能似乎有被增強...
CDM實測原本差不多是460~500MB...
現在已經達到650~680MB之間..

但是512KB隨機寫入性能下降的很嚴重...

幾乎是原本值的一半...
還在找是甚麼問題..

LSI的Dimmer Switch技術明顯被大幅強化...
不僅僅是Unconfiguared有效了...
設定彈性高..
個人測試....
SAS硬碟閒置30分鐘後(可設定)...
便進入powersave..
HDD停止運轉..
確實有作用..
當對powersave的HDD進行操作的時候..
便會喚醒HDD(等個10秒鐘左右)...
繼續進行操作...

LSI的這個Dimmer Switch功能一直也是有名無實，本版終於肯花精力把它的功能補完，現在它的HDD Power Management功能終可與Adaptec和Areca看齊了

兩天前已去信咨詢LSI，但到目前為止所得到的回覆只有一句: "I am looking into this to see how this feature was implemented and where this information is obtained in the utility."


至於MSM內的HDD溫度顯示則正常

我這邊幾張9260升級後也可正常顯示溫度, 你可嘗試接另外一顆SATA HDD或找另一台電腦安裝再試一下, 或是再刷一次Firmware也可以

在windows下刷了f/w還是看不到..
我接了SATA SSD都看不到..
鬱悶...!!

我在dos用強刷的方式好了..

我直接用MegaCLI去抓PD資訊..
結果發現一個問題...
這似乎是MSM軟體的問題...
因為
megacli -ldpdinfo -a1
可以正確顯示溫度....

我從另一台使用LSISAS2008的Supermicro設備透過MSM連進來...

結果查看那台LSISAS2008...

有出現!!...

下午已寫mail詢問LSI了..

我拿了一顆FAEX的SATA 3.0 HDD去接上去...

顯示不太正常, SATA只有3G不是6G, 而溫度卻是0度

3Gb/s是因為被我用jumper限制掉...
至於0度的情況..
我還在查..
因為這在MegaCLI檢查是沒有這種情況..
我不知道為什麼會這樣...

如果是這個因素的話..
用MegaRAID CLI一樣會有問題阿..
問題就是我用MegaRAID CLI可以正確掃出溫度出來?!...

目前LSI已經跟我確認這方面問題...
要求我回報相關資訊了...
I was able to re-create the issue with our lab systems. We will need to escalate the case to our Level 3 Technical Support Engineers so they may provide the information to our development team for a fix in the next release.

Because you have purchased a new Retail card, we will need issue a new case number (2-280283986) and close the old (2-277986980). Please refer to Service Request number #2-280283986 moving forward.

In order to escalate this case to our Level 3 engineers, we will require total system information. Please provide the following:

We will need the serial number off of the card itself or the box it came in.  This serial number should start with a letter followed by 7-10 numerical digits (ex/SVxxxxxxx, Nxxxxxxx, Pxxxxxxx).  If you are unable to identify the correct serial number, please send all of the numbers on white stickers from the controller.

Also, please provide the following system information:
Controller: 9260-8i
Driver Version:
Firmware Version:
Operating System:
Make/Model of Motherboard:
Make/Model of Drives: Seagate SAS ST31000640SS
System configuration (RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, etc.): Issue occurs regardless of configuration

Once we receive this information, we will verify entitlement and assign to the next available Support Engineer.

Yes it is most likely a bug as it has been entered into our system.

Can you uninstall and try our Beta version?
Otherwise, we will fix it in our next full MSM release.

關於PowerSave部分...
我看到了這個...

這個是T10的電源方案部分...
似乎針對這塊...
HDD有支持的話..
LD可以達到最大節能效果..
不過T10是一個組織..
制定SAS標準的組織...
這樣應該知道意思了吧...

我覺得Seagate的節能方案(PowerChoice)比WD先進很多..
Idle_A
• 停用大部分的伺服系統、降低處理器和通道
耗電量
• 以最高速率運轉的磁碟 (7200 RPM)
Idle_B
• 停用大部分的伺服系統、降低處理器和通道
耗電量
• 磁頭已卸載至停放區。
• 以最高速率運轉的磁碟 (7200 RPM)
Idle_C/Standby_Y (僅限 SAS)
• 停用大部分的伺服系統、降低處理器和通道
耗電量
• 磁頭已卸載至停放區。
• 硬碟機降至較低轉速 (降低 RPM)
Standby_Z
• 磁頭已卸載至停放區。
• 硬碟機馬達降低轉速。
• 硬碟機仍會回應非媒體存取主機指令。

LSI讓LSISAS2008 solution對PowerSave機制似乎做了一些很王八蛋的限制:

PowerSave機制變的很殘廢..
我覺得根本不合理...

也不能算bug...
我按Start Patrol Read..
他不給我跑..
結果Set Patrol Read Properties設進去就可以跑了...

我從LSISAS1078詢問了相關Dimmer Switch問題(有關問題可看8888ELP帖子)...
也順便詢問LSISAS2008的Dimmer Switch特徵問題...
結果我得到了某種的暗示回答...
Further dimmerswitch updates for the 1078 based products are not anticipated, while new power saving features have been added to the current 2108 based products.

晚上再做一次確認...

Dimmer switch is not planned for our entry line products.
LSISAS2008的Dimmer Switch確定殘廢..................

LSI的Tech Support是分幾級的，一般問題只會由Level 1的技術員作回覆，如問題未能解決便會把問題提升到Level 2或更高等級，問題亦會交由另一個部門作出跟進

這個問題換人接手了...
之前的溫度問題也是Level 3...
不清楚他們怎麼區分的...
