SAS and SATA HDD will have different behavior, it is normal.
In normal state:
SAS HDD – activity LED on( green )
SATA HDD – activity LED off

If your controller supports BBUs, you are using a BBU, and you are write caching, the flag should change.

In other words, you cannot purchase a hardware key, seat it on several boards, and permanently enable the feature.

License keys are permanent switches, but they are single-use. Enabling the license will make a change in the NVRAM which is permanent, but the license is automatically disabled after first use.

關於2TB以上硬盤的支持：

>2TB drives will be supported for all our 6Gb/s products and is planned for integration with our 3Gb/s MegaRAID line, though there are no current plans for future releases for the 3Gb/s HBA line. Please be sure to check our compatibility lists prior to the purchase of new drives at the interoperability tab at the link below.

有个问题，如果lsi的sas 2控制器都支持2t以上硬盘的话，
那么lsi sas 2控制器+sas1代背板(lsi sasX36 expander)，这样的搭配，不知道对大于2t容量硬盘支持度如何。。

expander不會對這造成影響..
你要注意的是expander對HDD的兼容性...

We do see the errors in the MSM software and bug fixes have been filed for the next release.
