This is a request to the rest of the Asus A7N8X-VM owners that have/ X- L- F1 {. G% s1 P1 w
bought the companion AGP-NV-DVI card. I'm not able to get TV out
" s0 d$ a6 j( C- M6 wworking, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or
7 D& f4 Y7 I# @0 u+ f5 j& ^Linux, and I was curious if anyone else has or is having the same
7 o. o9 P+ @1 r" d' \problem.& }4 ?# W; Q1 O" F) x
+ ?5 D7 n. [( t, H

They are always "Busy Helping other customers" which is usually

I've been dealing with this problem since Mar 17, 2004 and no one has2 Y1 u. ~. K& {7 Z
yet to call me back.. J- z6 h! ^2 _; G- B

All Devices Are function properly with the exception of the DVI

reason I purchased this motherboard and daughter card.

6 v4 g: ], a9 ^+ FI have tried downloading and reinstalling the drivers for the systems5 o+ o" e; ?* h7 U
components, running the system with each monitor indivually and% [, \. n! ~$ D' ~  r1 B2 C" |1 b
combined, and unplugging the TV Tuner Card. The setting under the bios- f6 m2 M# ^+ z7 }) |8 t& W" _
specify NTSC for the TV out format Nothing has had an effect on the
4 T# D& M, `2 R) c1 b! Fvideo output of the AGP-NV-DVI card.
$ w  J2 b. J7 ]" L- `- \& r) \# K" e! G. I/ g1 P
All I receive from the Television for a fraction of second is a( X1 }# J* `# P, \% _- l
flicker of the computer screen in B&W when I select the Television
! E+ r' Z' C% `/ T" x2 E4 O2 doutput from the nVidia GeForece4 MX Intergrated GPU Properties Tab
! Z6 w* A* V8 y/ Q; e"Device Selection" Menu
+ \8 p0 X+ y( M: @$ m5 m. `8 j2 d( y+ f: r
The Television is working with the system via the GrandTec Unit, and
9 c+ I, u, K& m: n9 ~+ ~) yvia my VCR.

motherboard. Whenever selecting to output to the tv, he gets a quick/ ~8 M: W0 N, k
flicker and then the video goes out again. He has attempted to connect
: f3 y: Y  e! T2 f) Hto another tv. Same problems. Also tried loading linux, to see if+ e3 r" R4 J; }/ W7 F$ n) {5 g1 w
still had problems. No difference. Beginning to sound like a possible
& }, B9 Y1 r# x# a" @* Cbad card. Suggested trying a different power supply, run the+ i) [/ J& h5 J. f; k
motherboard outside of the case. If you still have problems then, k$ V, _+ ~! l6 \: J- r: o

(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and
. V. d7 g' s2 N$ U+ Q4 k- ?pieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as
& O6 A/ \! t5 R2 s3 a7 j( d' Lthe last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the
$ W# P. D0 `3 J0 G4 ^9 mconnection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the) I5 U/ {: q  O8 I% l4 Y4 L6 X. g4 J
AGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system
& t; f' y! Q. Wboard, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That
# w! Z+ O% h; m: F+ _* cdoesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I
( p1 @( D% r9 f: Hjust didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.7 l0 x3 O6 u/ `% v
Bottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do.
5 J7 }! |, u" w. e: n8 e' I3 mHelp with this feature would be greatly appreciated since it is why I
# K' n5 p6 V# Z1 b, P& ]5 [# R# ?  Ypurchased this system and daughter card.

3 |* A2 g0 E  W6 e; {) p, ca good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since* o0 ]0 ]  J9 B. Y2 c# e/ b1 y9 @; x
changing the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the
! L1 ]3 [5 o% m5 D1 [2 X$ NAntec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked
" ^% a- o) V# W% yproperly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working% x: N( }7 u' ?+ _  g+ J
replacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should- R) J" T" x' T9 m( l' q
function correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the
' r9 Y0 N9 b& ?4 H& pAntec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps# ~. J; {0 F0 S7 E
that particular power supply has issues of its own.
* ^! X  Z0 h; f' f% y( L
8 {) I; e% v( R3 a9 f; M1 C: {" e' nRegarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on' t# v5 ?$ \, }; P4 |% D3 S- u
and connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also: l- T; q& t4 X  c& c% d' H
want to try a different video cable to see if that helps.

7 m+ D" |* P* y0 oIf a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,# E+ N, M2 b4 Z! u- O+ S
unfortunately the only option left is to contact RMA once again.$ ]% h* g* p- Y( [5 y2 ]; @) ^

in the pc. doesn't really want to go through a another RMA call back

"Ratan", the RMA rep I spoke with, the board is functionaly with

' [) y5 \& }& i( F+ U# Tme that I should receive a return phone call no later than end of day
  b/ t3 G& v7 l" NMonday 12PM. Which means if I do not hear back from tech support
: h5 h( f" X6 w% h5 m* }) Kbefore then it will result in me contacting tech support again on* a, W* i0 t  ?( F! q8 h$ P$ z
