bought the companion AGP-NV-DVI card. I'm not able to get TV out* c4 }* a$ f6 {: \
working, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or4 l. b8 J7 T" i  P2 i
Linux, and I was curious if anyone else has or is having the same

BTW: Asus customer service has to be the worst I've ever delt with.

& D- c$ v- z/ hI've been dealing with this problem since Mar 17, 2004 and no one has
# v0 t; S2 ]! zyet to call me back.0 ?# X4 y  y( S! n5 X

All Devices Are function properly with the exception of the DVI
' B0 l0 p: I$ x. W/ k  jDaugther Card's S-Video and Composite out Feature. This is the main' G4 m. h/ U7 v5 y% [
reason I purchased this motherboard and daughter card.3 U2 @+ }" v( c5 O

I have tried downloading and reinstalling the drivers for the systems. K$ X" ~( @3 j. n+ s4 i
components, running the system with each monitor indivually and- j' \7 {" ^8 Z. ]# g3 {( @
combined, and unplugging the TV Tuner Card. The setting under the bios
, L0 @& L5 V( ]! ?) ]1 y$ C6 j+ B/ ]7 @specify NTSC for the TV out format Nothing has had an effect on the3 ^( U$ ^6 d4 q# u
video output of the AGP-NV-DVI card.3 d0 e7 f" W4 u! C* X

" a- a7 v' c( ?3 \# |1 SAll I receive from the Television for a fraction of second is a0 a% y0 W9 Q5 B3 d
flicker of the computer screen in B&W when I select the Television
; ]6 T1 ^9 @, F- y+ Doutput from the nVidia GeForece4 MX Intergrated GPU Properties Tab

The Television is working with the system via the GrandTec Unit, and8 w* l/ c) ?0 A, |% v$ e2 U% ]
via my VCR.

Customer using agp-nv-dvi agp card, that is supposed to work with this
. [, a  H" u* T1 N% `) R$ M8 e! E; Pmotherboard. Whenever selecting to output to the tv, he gets a quick0 y1 a. h1 @0 B, L
flicker and then the video goes out again. He has attempted to connect) r+ _- M; v: B& M! P$ p5 [
to another tv. Same problems. Also tried loading linux, to see if9 y% z* C& J! ^' H( B
still had problems. No difference. Beginning to sound like a possible
4 z" S6 D  b7 b9 f9 j9 m# }+ Fbad card. Suggested trying a different power supply, run the
+ @, ]$ L1 }8 u5 T1 l! J6 h$ G, Wmotherboard outside of the case. If you still have problems then

Tried system out of case with Antec 400W psu, heard a "pop" sound and
& S5 f( y& X3 osmelled smoke; nothing works, system won't power up, with or without

Okay, got the system board (A7N8X-VM/400) and daughter card
. a' z* Y% O. a& K9 p(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and( ~* _# `4 ^, [) J% K7 ]
pieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as4 o3 ?3 X7 e. x7 \1 S
the last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the& G6 |8 _9 E" a. U& ?3 s! O7 J& [5 C5 X
connection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the
6 v4 H% I0 q$ X1 e9 E/ |# MAGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system% u7 ]* u  [/ w. W3 D( |: _# J8 l
board, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That
/ l: \7 v5 m$ [) _doesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I
- E2 {, l9 V; w" q' l- zjust didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.* d2 }) X+ U- F% O
Bottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do.0 h$ C6 a( b9 |$ f5 D; Q- s
Help with this feature would be greatly appreciated since it is why I4 W6 d0 s/ d8 V8 _) ^
purchased this system and daughter card.

The sparks probably indicate a static electricity problem--not really
7 p8 R1 O1 m" d" e, n) u; |a good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since. t( G' p6 a/ \: _% }9 y
changing the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the2 Q/ X  Z- Z! E* }9 E
Antec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked4 V- V$ X" E9 n6 n& P' L- @
properly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working- `1 h- R$ S, }+ q) ^
replacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should9 ]1 ^3 _4 S  P1 G; I
function correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the
8 K4 m: l0 B% G8 P) f$ t% o: E6 ]# s( kAntec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps$ w1 W' Y8 c1 F+ s; P
that particular power supply has issues of its own.8 f+ f& l9 W) ~. v4 O' Q
4 S. ^3 _3 s, p8 x9 d" P: R
Regarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on: Z* d  {5 C' x( L% u
and connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also
# G  }8 B4 P! m+ |7 j- R% ywant to try a different video cable to see if that helps.
" t; e5 P. s+ v5 T9 ^+ @7 i' w: p$ K# r; C7 i: {: @; L+ H7 d
If a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,3 \- a$ {$ c' S1 _  K
unfortunately the only option left is to contact RMA once again.8 t) H) |3 y) S
Please give these suggestions a try, and let us know if you need

"Ratan", the RMA rep I spoke with, the board is functionaly with

Next, I called Tech support and left a message with Less who informed
' }, U& s* y6 X! @- T9 Yme that I should receive a return phone call no later than end of day4 z. ]! j1 u* E5 M3 x9 Q
Monday 12PM. Which means if I do not hear back from tech support
0 T2 f. x0 K! p( P) h; Lbefore then it will result in me contacting tech support again on& L8 `8 X4 N6 @( H* x: _6 J" n
tuesday the 18th of may.
