Saturday July 05, 2008NVIDIA Cuts Prices on High End Cards
Hexus is reporting that NVIDIA, facing pricing pressure on the heels of the impressive release of AMD/ATI's 4800-series, is cutting prices on the 9800 GTX, GTX 260, and GTX 280 cards. The AIB (board partner) prices will be as follows (all prices are USD):

9800 GTX: $165 ($199)
GTX 260: $222 ($329)
GTX 280: $392 ($499)

(Prices in parentheses are target selling prices.)

An interesting issue arising from this move is the extent to which NVIDIA is protecting its AIBs and the broader channel from these price cuts. Even if it just protects the AIBs it could be looking at an additional bill of $10 million or so and, obviously, if it extends that to the entire channel the figure will be considerably higher.

价格已经足够低了
现在的问题不是价格而是性能
如果55nm的GT200系列性能和功耗的表现真的能比65nm提升一大截的话
多花钱也愿意
另外R700也要发力啊单卡性能王……

确实,当初如果听了这个胖熊猫头像的话去入GTX2XX系列可就亏大了

怀念啊，不到3K的顶级卡，当年GF3和GF4Ti 4800的光景，从Voodoo到GF4那么多年也没越过3K这个坎
当时的NV挺厚道的，老A来搅局，把NV带坏了
当年的顶级卡从没有玩不爽当代的游戏，看看现在，图形计算资源的飞速增长把很多游戏程序员宠坏了，没几个下功夫去优化的

估计这并非狙击
而是NV打算尽快清掉库存
然后用55nm产品对抗48x0系列
到时候GTX260的功耗应该足够低了
一卡双芯的GTX260X2+GDDR5显存应该比R700快……

恩威迪亚用的可是512bit和448bit的显存位宽，降下来可是大杀效益的啊
