working, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or

Okay, got the system board (A7N8X-VM/400) and daughter card
9 q' l: U+ n# l+ E8 M6 Y(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and
" O0 }, U& K2 M2 p# T1 w& C( j7 gpieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as
* e) V2 ]0 H3 ?the last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the. G5 Z+ s' j9 E' N. p
connection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the$ F% ]/ v) e3 k8 k T) a, M
AGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system; f% m" G' O7 l8 U( ]8 a% J* A
board, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That
9 w, `4 z: ?3 Zdoesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I
0 I2 s: |/ v9 {* d: I& Yjust didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.
# J; K8 `0 @% _$ }. [0 e: H9 UBottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do.

The sparks probably indicate a static electricity problem--not really+ H1 w8 c) T. v0 _3 N' e
a good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since
' I3 X& }1 p8 jchanging the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the9 q. q: w4 \& m% b
Antec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked
2 T. R- F2 z: M: Sproperly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working
: E2 P5 B6 K8 d! Yreplacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should
4 K# u: ^# l4 l5 }$ j$ U" J K+ |3 Dfunction correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the! z: W+ ^) ~* p# j H
Antec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps9 a/ u# Q7 Q2 l9 y, l6 X/ l( `
that particular power supply has issues of its own.
9 X- f" @: M2 Z4 D0 [, u6 T5 { Y5 b9 a& P; |; m8 G
Regarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on! d0 |% b+ `/ k& n7 \! i+ O
and connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also
5 [9 B/ F3 @& Wwant to try a different video cable to see if that helps./ n- r: L- V# O+ k( | L: c
' c1 I) D7 p& r8 k# _* I: VIf a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,
& e7 {) H+ y4 y9 J" Nunfortunately the only option left is to contact RMA once again.
