HP doomed too: Hewlett-Packard (HP) enjoyed the top revenue spot in 4Q08 and for full-year 2008, widening the gap to its closest competitor and ahead six full percentage points in market share for the full year. Industry-standard ProLiant servers generated more than $4 billion in 2008. Progress in the non-x86 segment, especially during 4Q, contributed to the results. Integrity servers represented 25.3% of total HP EMEA revenue in 2008, up from 20.5% in 2007.
With increased demand for HP Integrity and HP Integrity NonStop servers in the fourth quarter, HP grew Intel Itanium processor-based server revenue by 7.3 percent year over year.
