但是同2408一样，预置的sRGB模式和校准到sRGB模式后的结果均不理想-广色域显示器的通病）



DVD and Video


With its numerous connection options, Dell clearly intends the 2709Wfor multimedia use. We now intend to clarify whether the Dell 2709W LCDmonitor can also meet these challenges.
We tested both playback via PC and via Blu-ray player(PS3), which we connected via HDMI. We were unable to test theperformance of the DisplayPort connection since we had no deviceavailable which already has a port of this kind.
PC playback (DVI-D):
Film "Smokin‘ Aces" video playback via PC: Source with 720p.
The black value in films can be rated good. The best results wereachieved with the pre-defined Multimedia mode, since black is displayedin a more saturated form here. We found no difference between usagewith active or inactive dynamic contrast– neither in the positive nornegative sense. There was no visible streaking. The viewing angles canbe rated very good. The Dell 2709W delivers good results in bothbrighter and darker surroundings.
HDMI – Blu-ray:
We used a Playstation 3 as both a HDMIsource and a Blu-ray player. In the test, the image was stable. Here,the best image mode was "Multimedia", since the colours and contrastsare best and the black value makes the best impression.
Film "300" Blue Ray 1080p via PS3: more details than the digital camera can record.
Juddering was only present in minimal amounts and was only visiblewhen we looked closely. No really negative effect on the film enjoymentwas noticed.

Film "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" 576p with a normal DVD

The image quality for the playback of HD material is outstanding onthe Dell 2709W. Although conventional DVDs appear somewhat coarselygrained, which is also the case for video playback, at a certaindistance from the screen, this is certainly tolerable but stillnoticeable. The background may be the pixel structure of the 27-inchmodel, which displays the weaknesses of non-HD material mercilessly.


The quality at the HDMI input on our test model was constantly good.Overall, the performance of the Dell 2709W in the area of HD playbackcan be rated as "very good". In the area of SD playback, on the otherhand, image playback was merely satisfactory.
The black values in the DVD and video section could not quite mat**e excellent results in PC mode, but still provide a good result.
