LG has announced their new W20 series of monitors, featuring a range of IPS monitors; some with RGB LED. The new screens are aimed primarily at graphics use.
Two new 24-inch monitors has been announced called W2420R and W2420P.
W2420R
W2420R is a 24-inch IPS monitors with an RGB LED backlight. The backlight covers 100% of the AdobeRGB colour spare and 135 % of the NTSC colour space.
The model features hardware calibration with the LGE Calibrator tool. A light protection hood can be mounted as well.![]()
LG W2420R
W2420R will offer a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, a 6 ms (g2g) response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness and viewing angles of 178 degrees.
- "With the W20 series, we are serving both graphics beginners and users with professional demands”, explains Nils Seib, Manager for Public Relations, LG Electronics Deutschland GmbH.
Finally the screen has an internal 12-bit LUT (look-up table) and a USB 2.0 hub.
LG W2420R will be available from May 2009 at 1630 Euro.
W2420P
The LG W2420P is the step down. It’s a 24-inch monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution and 5 ms (g2g) response time.
It has a 72 % NTSC colour space IPS panel. The screen comes in a silver finish.
LG W2420P is available from July 2009 at 400 Euro.
W2220P
A 22-inch version is released as well. It’s the LG W2220P widescreen 22-inch monitor. It has an IPS panel and 1920x1200 resolution.
Interestingly, this is the first 22-inch monitor with a 1920x1200 resolution. It has a response time of 5 ms (g2g).

The model also comes in silver finish from July 2009 at 260 Euro
All models in the W20 range feature 2x HDMI, DVI and D-SUB (VGA). They also come with a height, swivel, tilt and pivot stand. Buttons are touch-sensitive.
LG W2420R will be available from May 2009 at 1630 Euro. W2420P and W2220P are available from July 2009 and are priced at 400 and 260 Euro, respective. |
