Back in June we showed you that Galaxy was planning to bring a WHDI capable video card to market and we have finally gotten our hands on the first sample. Under the sleek metal air shroud lies a WHDI 1080P wireless transmitter and a GeForce GTX 460 video card.

What this will allow you to do is stream you computer desktop directly to your TV. WHDI is a very robust technology.
What is WHDI? - WHDI™ (Wireless Home Digital Interface) sets a new standard for wireless high-definition video connectivity. It provides a high-quality, uncompressed wireless link which can support delivery of equivalent video data rates of up to 3Gbps (including uncompressed 1080p) in a 40MHz channel in the 5GHz unlicensed band, conforming to worldwide 5GHz spectrum regulations. Range is beyond 100 feet, through walls, and latency is less than one millisecond.
We are looking forward to using the Galaxy WHDI card this weekend and see how it works out for us in some real world testing. Control of course is a big issue. I know smartphone apps as well as local wireless keyboards plugged into the receiver are being played with.
