{closedeyes:] OverclockingTo overclock the cards being tested today we used the driver control panel and initially let the software Auto-Tune before some final manual configuration. The overclock we achieved on the R700 was 15MHz core and 30MHz memory which would seem to be entirely down to this being an engineering sample. If experience with the 4870 is anything to go by we should expect 800MHz + on the core and 1000MHz+ on the memory on final production samples.
| Stock | Max OC | R700 | 750/900 | +15/+30 | Here are the results of the cards when running at the maximum clockspeeds.

| Temperature testing, like Overclocking, is included in this article only as a brief outline as the final samples will use a different voltage in 2D operation. This may not result in a change of idle temperature but will more than likely result in a lower fan speed at idle. Essentially ATI seem to be keeping their 4800 series cards at approximately 80-90c when at load and idle by changing the fan speed as required.
