AMD, which has been going head-to-head with Nvidia since acquiring graphics-chip maker ATI Technologies several years ago, said during a demonstration Thursday that its next generation of graphics chips—which are used to simulate three-dimensional environments in videogames and other applications -- will offer speeds 2.5 times faster than models AMD introduced last year.
"Without dispute, AMD will be the graphics leader in the world," said Rick Bergman, who heads AMD's products group.

We've heard that ATI's soon to lunch DirectX 11 performance card, something that we know as RV870 and something that AMD calls Evergreen, should be roughly 1.6 times faster than the RV770 chip.
按照某毛毛的说法,新一代rv870应该是3.5xrv770了吧……还是知名的The Wall street Journal 英文没毛毛好。
