# D; z/ c/ e1 j: s
DirectMonitoring for Mia is a little tricky. Cubase (or any other ASIO program) doesn’t know + B8 U! t0 `' ^$ W
about Mia’s virtual outputs; it just sees Mia as four inputs and eight outputs. Unfortunately, Mia’s - Q! i6 `8 \5 t/ t/ c- h" N

( Y: @# }* a8 T" o6 _) |, ?. V
When you run Cubase, you may not see some of your outputs. This is probably due to the fact 6 Y; W( k) {4 W3 Y! {( C0 H
that another program is using them. The most likely culprit is the Microsoft wavetable ) v3 Z5 q" o. p1 T% b1 ?8 U

Look in the “Setup MME” program for other programs that may be grabbing audio outputs or : M3 I4 s- r0 c0 S9 k
inputs. In addition, see what other audio software you have running. 9 F$ {9 I# j$ ]3 M7 f. P- W/ Z

Why is my first input monitor always muted when I run Cubase?

" e+ l2 f5 G- y
8 e" s; @! _1 J4 U$ q+ D
! l: `2 u7 l; i" `2 _- NThis is because we support ASIO 2.0 Direct Monitoring. Direct Monitoring gives Cubase control
: p" [6 U% w3 c9 U# B; H/ n' ^- S& V' F8 Cover the hardware monitors. When Cubase starts up, it uses DirectMonitoring to mute that

% r9 w( o; u; g) j+ \5 m
We realize that this is annoying. As far as we can tell the concept behind Cubase is that you ' S7 C, [6 \+ n# M
should have all your monitors muted at first and then enable them within Cubase in the Channel
