" }: S# D7 C* I: H" s% O& sDirectMonitoring for Mia is a little tricky. Cubase (or any other ASIO program) doesn’t know ! x6 D" y) V% ?
about Mia’s virtual outputs; it just sees Mia as four inputs and eight outputs. Unfortunately, Mia’s
$ K: P# z: K. B$ Ymonitor mixer can only route real inputs to real outputs, and there is no obvious way to convert
' E6 g" g1 s0 X, C& `from the virtual outputs to the real outputs.
* X" m2 A/ Z7 l1 {. N- b: i& w) O8 [& X3 q* c+ D2 ?! }$ R G
Therefore, if you are doing DirectMonitoring with Mia, the input will be simultaneously sent out

) @9 W5 i7 ~# o& L j0 I1 zWhen you run Cubase, you may not see some of your outputs. This is probably due to the fact
2 n: ^: K$ k% P' p: w; Hthat another program is using them. The most likely culprit is the Microsoft wavetable

Look in the “Setup MME” program for other programs that may be grabbing audio outputs or

Z+ G7 T* E" D/ l8 i* Z/ r1 v
$ b! a- L! Z! M; g0 g3 XThis is because we support ASIO 2.0 Direct Monitoring. Direct Monitoring gives Cubase control
2 S$ Z- u0 R4 h$ gover the hardware monitors. When Cubase starts up, it uses DirectMonitoring to mute that

$ W" V+ H, b4 G' r' D+ y* P1 |
, w% I3 e! X+ n3 M1 B! L8 H! b# [& r% x- F1 P9 G- y
We realize that this is annoying. As far as we can tell the concept behind Cubase is that you , e) R# b O6 ^: r Y& v1 g+ S
should have all your monitors muted at first and then enable them within Cubase in the Channel
$ ?8 ^0 z) s4 v% y R& xMixer window as you prepare to record tracks, etc. H$ r0 o1 f3 K+ H3 M8 o4 q3 D

If you don’t like this behavior, you can always go to Options/Audio Setup/System…., click on
* u: ^: R; ^* t" I“ASIO Control Panel” and uncheck the box labeled “Enable ASIO 2.0 Direct Monitoring”. This will 3 v7 i5 h* Z7 M: r
cause our ASIO driver to reject any Direct Monitoring commands and prevent the mute on
