I dont think Microsoft will take over Nvidia. The reason is simple. The biggest trouble for Microsoft now is Google. No matter how the semiconductor sector evolves, MS wont be hurt since they offer standard on the software side. Another issue is that Nvidia is not necessarily a good business. You can tell that from its ROE, ROA, ROIC and its earning history. It would be a huge drag to MS if BG tries to combine these two business together.

On the other hand, it is a real possibility for MS consider to buy Yahoo!. Google is way too powerful and its business model is hurting both companies. It is my belief that in the future, those companies will evitably evolve into fully internet-based, service-intergrated and consumer-oriented business models. Having said that, even MS has to change to align with the new trend. And this is what they are exactly doing.

一直不觉得google对微软有什么威胁。
1，微软的利润来自哪里？主要来自office和windows以及服务器软件市场嘛。我看不到google在这些方面对微软有什么维系。那些免费的office我也用过，成不了什么气候。

2，网络是趋势，也许任何东西都可以运行在网络上，但是网络本身通过什么接触用户？多数人还是通过计算机。在计算机操作系统市场上，微软的垄断优势还是不可动摇的。linux在易用性上还是无法与windows相提并论。要提高linux的易用性，起码要抛弃它一直以来的脚本、复杂的配置文件等等，最基本的也要对用户屏蔽这些复杂的东西。

google在这个市场上也看不到任何的发力。

最后，我个人是坚定的google使用者，nVidia的fans。:lol:

此帖被你弄得离题万里呀，不过貌似你好像支持硬件比软件更为重要。但其实硬件需要软件，就如同软件需要硬件一样。再想想大脑和意识二者的关系的话，你就会明白硬件和软件到底哪个重要了。
