在国外的论坛总算找到个相同的用家,他是用M28E2的。他的回复:
The fan is very noisy that you get with it (80x80x38mm). I just bought the M28E2 version of the same unit filling it out w/ 15K savvios for my desktop box. I only have 4 savvios in it now (bloody e-bay auctions, got 1/2 the drives that came up dead). I'm doing a RAID-10 on mine. As for the cable I think it's supermicro part # CBL-0116L which is just a mini sas 4i to discrete connectors. I'm using it w/ the Areca ARC-1680ix-24 (only sas card I had available at the time).

The ARC-1680ix has the mini-sas 4i connectors on it, so you just plug that end into the controller and then each one of the 4 breakouts plug into the 4 channels you have on the back of the M28E1/E2. The breakout side of the cable is labeled as P1-P4 which you just plug into channel 0-3 on the back of the E1/E2. (why they can't keep a consistent numbering scheme is beyond me, likewise why they are using individual sas connectors on the back of the unit opposed to another mini-sas4i is also IMHO stupid. All the channels get bonded together to form a 12Gbit link to the controller (4x3Gbps) which then get distributed out to the drives via the expander. Not that big of a deal as you'll be hard pressed to get 12Gbits of performance either out of only 8 drives or out of a raid controller. |
