Hi. I purchased a vx 450 psu from buy.com few days ago. When I power the computer on, the computer make some "zzzz" sound and it is kind of loud. So, I tried to find out where did the sound came from. I figured out the sound came from PSU(power supply). What should I do now? should I return it to buy.com? or what?
Thank you
I just installed a VX450W last night and have a high-pitched whine noise that is really annoying. I see that I am not the only one with the same problem and was wondering if it is a known fan problem, or another issue. My question is if this issue could cause problems if I keep running the pc while waiting to get a replacement.
Thanks

My 520HX's fan generates a sound. It's a kind of "zzzz" or "vvvvv". Tone pitch depends on system load.
It is not very loud, but louder than my processor box fan, and, I think, even louder than my pioneer dvd writer. Maybe it seems louder beacause it's not a typical airflow sound, but it's a kind of buzzz. Daytime it's not very noticealble. But when I sit at night and write, or when I make music.......
The supply doesn't seem to be overloaded, I think my 520HX is much more than minimum for my c2duo8200+8600GTS. Besides, I can hear the fan even when it rotates quite slowly.
I'm a bit confused. I've read that I souldn't hear anything noticeable when sitting by my desk, even when it's quiet around me.
Or should I?
regards
S.
P.S.
I apologise for my english.
regards
