Overview
. b7 K, c) p4 i& p( j1 IThe CA20K1 digital audio processor is a slave processor designed to
( V+ S: a4 X2 C" oaccelerator digital audio processing and is available in 0.13mm BGA package
size 23mm by 23mm. The CA20K1 contain several special purposes
3 y3 w) @* W, l% M/ L1 lprocessing units including: a sample rate converter engine, a digital filter
engine, a digital delay line accelerator know as the “tank engine”, a digital
0 r9 Z/ k- N  R: C" `. dfilter engine, a powerful mixer, a micro-programmable audio DSP, various
1 n) u, U8 {7 [6 ?$ hdigital I/O capabilities and bus mastering external memory interfaces. Unlike
the host interface control port the bus mastering “audio transport” supports
5 u0 A# E- w$ a+ c+ M) Zburst mode accesses to the PCI and SDRAM interfaces. Host processor is
8 Z$ v+ E: I+ W# |/ U( a# Erequired to control the CA20K1 through a 32-bit PCI bus or a generic
microprocessor interface using a series of reads and writes to control

The X-Fi audio enhancement algorithm is integrated into the CA20K1 audio
processor to extend the X-Fi enjoyment to the customers. As the next
generation high-resolution audio processor, CA20K1 provides dramatic
' ]+ e' |, P+ rimprovements to enhance listening experiences for movies and improves
the capabilities, performance and quality of audio. The enhanced sound
; y: ?5 G2 z) j# V* wquality makes movies more realistic. Users can truly immerse themselves in

( _5 a+ |+ B" K) I: BCA20K2 uses an advanced PCI Express (PCIe) one-lane interface and adds an
embedded RISC processor to safegaurd against long control latencies
introduced by the PCIe interface. The CA20K2 also expands the audio I/O
+ c" y) q$ y2 s0 Jcapabilities and adds DDRAM for increased local memory bandwidth. In
addition, the CA20K2 incorporates a Universal Audio Architecture (UAA)
component and is available in 0.13mm BGA package size 19mm by 19mm.
