1.14 Onboard Power Button

, J5 q1 |( v9 u7 ], ZElectrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage components. The onboard power button+ Y$ A( }; R: B/ `9 r
should be used only at an ESD workstation using an antistatic wrist strap and a
) Y1 C- [4 e4 z6 t; U1 c0 Aconductive foam pad. If such a station is not available, some ESD protection can be0 a- L# B f/ H& i
provided by wearing an antistatic wrist strap and attaching it to a metal part of the
$ E; Q& J" g5 x) E. }9 Vcomputer chassis.' r6 i$ w. k+ E; ?: d2 ?) A- k
The board provides a power button that can be used to turn the computer on or off.; J7 z* U& J9 A# w5 T# Z( U" i6 Z
This button is intended for use at integration facilities to remove standby power before
4 I D$ S" ^1 y3 U4 Fmaking changes to the system configuration, or for testing purposes.% W- m) ^. q* {
The power button on the front panel is recommended for all other instances of turning
0 b1 Y) D* c) U: Y4 j' I& P8 vthe computer on or off. To turn the computer off using the onboard power button,

In addition to the standby power indicator, the board contains two LEDs that indicate

• The CPU LED indicates an elevated temperature on the processor that could effect
7 e5 M6 C. {! y' e3 ^; Hperformance" O1 Z8 D1 {* \1 k" ]' ~
• The VR LED indicates an elevated temperature in the processor voltage regulator
3 o0 p5 _- i2 Ncircuit that could effect performance: p0 ?# G- e* |! ?" {0 m& ]
