This is a request to the rest of the Asus A7N8X-VM owners that have; w# l ?% A7 b7 Z2 N |
bought the companion AGP-NV-DVI card. I'm not able to get TV out! I3 {( @ ^8 Q# V- D' R& F
working, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or1 N& F8 {+ \. n' Z$ W
Linux, and I was curious if anyone else has or is having the same

All Devices Are function properly with the exception of the DVI
/ e1 d( G. v" U' SDaugther Card's S-Video and Composite out Feature. This is the main+ _: c0 ^* i- @1 z0 s( { i) ^
reason I purchased this motherboard and daughter card.! p3 b X( Q6 d" }4 ~+ c, l' ^
% k2 s& z- w5 JI have tried downloading and reinstalling the drivers for the systems6 Z( f$ h6 A9 [9 A X
components, running the system with each monitor indivually and
2 k: D: x+ E* S6 g0 Scombined, and unplugging the TV Tuner Card. The setting under the bios
+ t; b/ \8 Q$ D: ^/ s) [ t9 j' M; s6 gspecify NTSC for the TV out format Nothing has had an effect on the. g' V0 U& O- m& i& a. f; k* G8 u
video output of the AGP-NV-DVI card.

All I receive from the Television for a fraction of second is a( W* n# ^2 s! z
flicker of the computer screen in B&W when I select the Television' T& y0 z$ T9 T. S$ p- X8 B

smelled smoke; nothing works, system won't power up, with or without

(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and: v+ j- U; ]1 i) ?" ?8 f* j
pieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as
" Y$ j( i" c! H6 othe last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the
" A4 F \/ O! |+ @connection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the
0 s# l6 e8 a( u/ |8 K1 a) D! IAGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system
6 y c8 W' M. U9 tboard, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That
0 S* v$ G" M2 P4 Tdoesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I& ?2 c5 K2 _* o* j. E6 T7 t- g# p
just didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.
0 `- a$ a: G3 }* PBottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do." @( Z+ ]# R6 U3 H7 t7 y& w; [" f
Help with this feature would be greatly appreciated since it is why I6 h' L9 H! G9 H/ X1 m2 @% N

a good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since
4 G' ?8 z# ]& n0 @% J/ c4 ~2 T8 nchanging the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the
0 g; s8 Z( ^0 H% }Antec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked0 L5 F0 A+ D1 k: c' s
properly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working$ W K$ z# s" n- h; F# e; Q
replacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should
( M* Q4 ?2 o+ Y' g0 k( t2 dfunction correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the
# G- _& g( ^* G/ q4 a8 _Antec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps
: [$ q- @8 @; w" o/ _3 ithat particular power supply has issues of its own.
" ~, A& |; j. o+ g& `7 w$ S: y8 z1 ? |& L. D, M7 |# v
Regarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on0 S- b; q5 c2 h" W
and connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also
! @2 B, p' m# {: A3 u: b' wwant to try a different video cable to see if that helps.$ q/ i. f j: B
( C5 {1 c' X6 a3 U& v
If a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,
