Problem: A7N8X-VM/400 w/ AGP-NV-DVI & TV-out feature

bought the companion AGP-NV-DVI card. I'm not able to get TV out. L7 J% B5 }9 h- @: J
working, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or
7 m# y0 c7 j0 s ], a! u9 TLinux, and I was curious if anyone else has or is having the same$ s% @$ ]! }0 h G8 h

I have tried downloading and reinstalling the drivers for the systems+ t* C. W& h5 u( R& \( u, M
components, running the system with each monitor indivually and
! t! S3 M, ~' n/ T. Vcombined, and unplugging the TV Tuner Card. The setting under the bios( {2 {& V" v: U' b* Y9 t3 `0 T& |# }4 i
specify NTSC for the TV out format Nothing has had an effect on the" I+ b. V% Z C9 B
video output of the AGP-NV-DVI card.2 @9 g" e J% x: @! W
% ~) F" @, \/ r' u B5 T1 [2 nAll I receive from the Television for a fraction of second is a
9 C% E% Z# R8 O8 Tflicker of the computer screen in B&W when I select the Television

Customer using agp-nv-dvi agp card, that is supposed to work with this

to another tv. Same problems. Also tried loading linux, to see if

bad card. Suggested trying a different power supply, run the

smelled smoke; nothing works, system won't power up, with or without

Okay, got the system board (A7N8X-VM/400) and daughter card
& S' F V9 ^. p5 i8 i(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and
F% ~; W" ] [' |pieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as* T6 t1 v9 q v- F( r
the last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the, q& Z3 O" e D
connection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the( j' w4 F% k* ~+ J0 g1 X9 w8 S
AGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system
. J A' {9 X* Vboard, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That
+ v' _" v! r5 Y1 Cdoesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I
: I4 V& N7 K. l& x" L9 D! w3 H) B$ Vjust didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.
6 P& b2 H/ \2 ~, {Bottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do.+ G# S3 X" L# O6 Y, P9 t
Help with this feature would be greatly appreciated since it is why I k/ \! ? s& j+ o

a good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since
, p7 _: [7 d; H7 kchanging the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the
) t( v3 k2 R2 m* nAntec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked
7 l+ t7 ]0 S" Dproperly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working( L' J/ u9 `- y; y* Q
replacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should
* `: l1 B! n, w* b- S: N+ \5 Vfunction correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the* k r- I3 m) {" S' Q! G) ]
Antec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps9 [; a# J# @4 ~( C: j. o$ i
that particular power supply has issues of its own.5 b- `) { {, ?- P
/ O1 G* P5 J. |" s3 H0 y2 n
Regarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on
2 c) r' K9 L Y: s0 nand connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also
+ c& r& I% T# l1 r* Fwant to try a different video cable to see if that helps.% R3 y( `5 W* {* W' }5 E
; m8 j& b% K7 g/ L' |8 L) \) s9 YIf a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,

Called RMA Dept after receiving replacement board. According to

respect all features including TV out.

Next, I called Tech support and left a message with Less who informed

before then it will result in me contacting tech support again on
