working, either through Composite or S-Video, in Windows 2000 or* z- X J, J$ `$ q& c: h. v" K

All I receive from the Television for a fraction of second is a

Okay, got the system board (A7N8X-VM/400) and daughter card6 e. j# k" y L4 d. v
(AGP-NV-DVI) back from the RMA department. I hook up all the parts and2 Z) s5 q. @3 S/ Q
pieces to the power supply and the SAME PROBLEM. Exactly the same as4 O/ L4 r1 J; {8 N% l
the last time. I did notice one new thing. When I went to check the' f% c% i" v9 [9 b- M
connection of the Composite Video Cable a small spark jumped from the
5 o0 v* p I! @1 ]" \2 O4 y# |AGP Cards resistor, Marked R20??, to the AGP Connector on the system5 T( x6 f4 z! L( I/ N$ \3 i5 J
board, causing the system to reset and including the CMOS. That+ V9 Z5 |/ O1 [! n
doesn't look good at all. Funny thing is that was happening before I
, b e$ N2 N2 b! tjust didn't notice it, and I think thats what caused the last failure.; Z4 O) S& c3 {* S `
Bottom line the Card and System still don't do what I need them to do.

purchased this system and daughter card.

The sparks probably indicate a static electricity problem--not really$ x9 x+ M5 N1 a* M( w: n
a good thing. This is two power-type issues you have had since0 z/ J6 K- `; f6 \9 _7 A3 m1 e" p
changing the power supply--perhaps there is something wrong with the9 U* n" o: {4 [0 s$ R# p* X, _
Antec you picked up? The parts you received from RMA either a) worked/ f/ B. `- ~: {; D/ o
properly in their lab after repair, or b) were sent as working
1 y1 ~/ D! s) r; O0 z+ Vreplacements for the parts you sent to them. Either way, they should
/ x/ P+ ^# k7 L, Q1 S( t4 xfunction correctly. Since you had a problem initially when using the# `/ m3 V7 Y- F0 b: @
Antec, and now are having what looks like static problems, perhaps
3 f- v3 ]9 ?) Ithat particular power supply has issues of its own.
- q/ |& K* z% Z8 v! ~2 D$ }: E, H( V# Q& s3 W4 I- e
Regarding the TV out problem: Make sure the television is turned on# R- @4 B8 A: c K# T9 Q
and connected to the card before turning on the computer. You may also" N+ M8 T! N- l A7 x" u
want to try a different video cable to see if that helps.% L; E/ f3 u8 t9 @
! u. H* ]0 o4 F1 D/ L: b$ J
If a different power supply doesn't help the condition of the boards,
; P' M3 ^3 V8 cunfortunately the only option left is to contact RMA once again.7 C: c8 V G0 L" \/ e, _2 a+ ~
