  Pros: Case is solid and looks very nice. The drive is easy to install and secure in the enclosure once it's in there. Keeps my drives cool and I feel comfortable leaving them running for long periods of time.
    Cons: I run this enclosure off of the USB 2.0 interface almost exclusively (NOT why I bought this drive). Occasionally, the drive will unmount from both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. I think that the USB Controller in this device is shoddy and I am well outside of my Newegg return policy. Also, the indicator lights are blue for power and red for activity; kind of leaves this mediocre purple in the middle of the light bar. It's kind of ugly (my opinion, not everyone shares this).
    Other Thoughts: eSata will now power your device. This is why they include an extra USB power cable. You do/should not need to plug in the power cable when running the drive off of USB. That being said. It is fairly inconvenient to bring both an eSata and USB power cable everywhere I go in order to use the drive at full-speed.

    USB works just fine --when it doesn't disconnect... and yes, I've tried alternate cables and configurations; having the USB power plugged in while using the USB data cable, different USB data cable, etc. It just seems like a loose connection.

    The release for the drive bay is kind of nice but kind of not. It's secure and tight once the drive is in there, however you almost feel like you're going to snap the SATA/power port off of the drive putting it in the case.

    Overall, this device gets the job done. I'm not sure if other people have had the same issue I've had and I'm sure it's just a defect. This enclosure is cheap, but not the cheapest. Would buy again though.
