Two versions of CacheCade are currently available for MegaRAID Value and Feature Line controller products. The original CacheCade release supported read caching exclusively. The second release, CacheCade Pro 2.0, supports both read and write caching. The two products utilize different firmware versions:
- Firmware with CacheCade support for 9260-8i, 9260DE-8i, 9261-8i, 9280-4i4e, 9280-8e, 9280DE-8e
- Firmware with CacheCade support for 9280-24i4e, 9280-16i4e, 9260-16i
- CacheCade Pro 2.0 firmware for 9260-8i, 9260DE-8i, 9261-8i, 9280-4i4e, 9280-8e, 9280DE-8e
- CacheCade Pro 2.0 firmware for 9280-24i4e, 9280-16i4e, 9260-16i
Use of the original CacheCade hardware key with CacheCade Pro 2.0 firmware will result in instability, including configuration loss and inability to adjust volume properties.
