最近拿了个ER6i测了一下~


Etymotic ER6i is a in-the-ear type stereo headset. It provides a isolation of over 25dB against the noise outside. Below is the measurement done this morning in AE lab, CDC.
1.      Isolation against ambient noise

Due to the in-the-ear design, ER6i provides much better noise canceling compared with normal circumaural earphones and normal earbuds. In the frequency below 1 KHz, the isolation is around 18dB and more than 25dB over 1 KHz, as shown in the pictures above.

& `; l% s* p6 t1 X+ M) k' ?+ ^Former try listening gives a feeling that the ER6i lacks in bass and it is proved by its response. Pictures below reveal why it’s bass-free.

Response of Bass-Rich ear bud (Brand Senmai)
Compared with the response given above, the ER6i’s response below 1 KHz is quite flat, within ±2dB. Instead, the Bass-Rich ear bud has a peak around 500Hz, which will result in plenty of bass elements while listening music. And that’s why ER6i is designed to classic music without too much bass.
/ Y  |3 J/ `6 s) s1 Z( \% FThe huge difference of THD may derive from driver type. ER6i applies balanced armature while the other dynamic.
